Jahrgang 1964, Professor für Steuerlehre und Ökologische Ökonomik an der FH Trier, Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld und Privatdozent an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Promotion über Unternehmensbewertung, Habilitation im Bereich der Sozialökonomik, Sprecher des Zentrums für Bodenschutz und Flächenhaushaltspolitik, Vorsitzender einer Arbeitsgruppe (Grundsteuerbemessungsgrundlagen) der International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), weiter nebenberufliche Tätigkeit als Steuerberater in einer Heidelberger Kanzlei, mehrjährige und andauernde freiberufliche Tätigkeit als Consultant für die GTZ (nunmehr GIZ; Sicherung der Landrechte in Kambodscha), Mitglied im Gutachterausschuss für die Ermittlung von Grundstückswerten des Landkreises Birkenfeld (zweite Amtsperiode), Dozent in der Sprengnetter Akademie (Immobilienbewertung) sowie dem Center for Urban and Real Estate Management (CUREM, Universität Zürich), langjähriger Vorsitzender der Sozialwissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft 1950 e.V. Vor der Berufung als Professor (Ende 1997) Kaufmännischer Leiter des Regionalbereichs Mitte/ GB Fernverkehr der Deutsche Bahn AG (Frankfurt a.M.) und Aufsichtsratsmitglied in der DB Dialog GmbH (Schwerin). Zuvor (bis Ende 1995) Prokurist der IFA Hotel & Touristik AG. Leitung des Konzern-Controlling und des Konzern-Rechnungswesens, Management der Börseneinführung in den Amtlichen Handel der Wertpapierbörsen zu Frankfurt und Düsseldorf, Zuständigkeit für Investor Relations. Veröffentlichung einer Reihe von Artikeln in Fachzeitschriften u.a. zu den Themen Eigentumsrechte, Land Use Management und Grundsteuer.

Prof. Dr. habil. Dirk Löhr, MBA (*1964) is a Professor of Taxation and Ecological Economics at the Trier University of Applied Sciences (Environment-Campus Birkenfeld), Germany, and Associate Professor at Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany.  His career has included work as tax adviser, as a lecturer for a private real estate academy (Sprengnetter Immobilienbewertung) and the Center for Urban and Real Estate Management (CUREM, University of Zürich, Switzerland), as a consultant for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) / German International Cooperation (GIZ) in Cambodia, as financial manager in an international hotel group and as a chief department manager for the Deutsche Bahn AG. Löhr is actually member of the public real estate assessment board (2nd period of office) of the county of Birkenfeld, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Moreover he is head of the Center for Soil Protection and Land Use Policy (Trier / Birkenfeld), chair of a working group (tax bases) of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), director of Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (Institut für angewandtes Stoffstrommanagement, IfaS) and president of the Association of Social Sciences (Sozialwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft 1950 e.V.). His academic work was widely published on (land) taxation, land use issues, and environmental economics.

Research fields:  Particularly economic and institutional aspects of land use management, particularly land taxation.
